Festival of Lights 2025

The operating train display at the 2025 Festival of Lights consists of a custom 20' x 20' modular layout incorporating 176 square feet of table space, with two (2) separate rail lines and two (2) sidings, all consisting of more than 180 feet of G-Scale track. A uniquely member-fabricated bascule bridge permits access to the display interior for operators, and automatically stops the trains when raised! The trains and structures on the display are "G-Scale" (1:22 to 1:29 or approx. twice the size of O-Scale 3-rail Lionel trains), plus capable of running indoors AND outdoors in the garden - even during inclement conditions of rain, wind, or snow! Engines are controlled by Radio Control or Analog Transformers, with power supplied through either battery or track means. Many of the Structures are Member-Built with customized individual interior lighting and/or sound effects. In total the display requires 36 - 48 man-hours to prepare & set up on site, and subsequently 18 - 24 man-hours to disassemble.
